Postcard-A-Rama

Oh, yeh.....
Which ones are going to Chicago you ask? I don't know yet-it's just been a "Postcard-A-Rama" around here (a friend coined that phrase). Here's the link: Making FFAC Postcards

The inspiration for this latest series, called "Shake" is from a song I heard recently on our local NPR station. The program is called "The Saturday Blues" and I usually listen while in the car...

Was this just a Minnesota thing, or do all moms, aunts, and girl cousins like to dance with each other at wedding receptions? When I was a much younger Julaine, I used to cringe when I saw my mother and her sisters doing this. It was embarrasing! Mom basically said, "who cares-we all married men who won't dance until they've had a few drinks, and then they only want to dance with younger women"...

It took a while, and a few years, but I finally got it!!! I have now done this, too...my DH will dance, sometimes...and isn't it good to know that a blues song gives us the permission, and tells us to "shake what ya momma gave you" no matter what size your body is, and it's okay to let your behind AND your top side flop around a little, or alot ~ can I get a "Amen" ???

The photo below is just one of them...there's more to come that will be mailed to Virginia Spiegel, and the ones that are available for purchase are here: Julaine's Art

LOVE the postcards... The dancing thing happens in Scotland, too, come to think of it, I've seen it in England, also. So it has international roots!

I grew up hearing that line when we had family dances. Thanks for the chuckle this afternoon.

They dance together in Wisconsin too. It has to do with guys having more fears than women do.
